1. Information stored on your device
Moonwave stores preferences such as language, appearance, favorites, sleep goals, custom sound mixes and reminder settings on your device. The Android app also stores focus and hydration/activity reminder records, downloaded audio and photos you select for custom scenes. The website uses browser storage for saved preferences and reminders. These records are not uploaded to our API in the current version. Features and saved data differ between the app and website.
2. Network requests and infrastructure
Opening the website, fetching sound/scene lists and streaming audio or images sends requests to Cloudflare, which hosts our website, API and media. Requests expose technical information such as your IP address, requested URL, timestamp and browser/app headers. Cloudflare processes network data for delivery, security and service operation; we may see service statistics and diagnostic information. This means the service is not entirely offline or anonymous. 3. Permissions and optional actions
Notification permission is used for reminders and playback controls. Background media playback uses the Android foreground media service. Selecting a scene photo gives the app access to the selected image, which is copied to app storage, not uploaded to our server. The current app does not request microphone recording, contacts, location or health-platform access to provide these features. Opening a legal link launches your browser. If you email us, we receive the message and contact information you provide.
4. Analytics, advertising and purchases
The current version does not integrate advertising SDKs, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config or a live subscription payment SDK. It does not require an account. We do not sell your personal data or use your local reminder records for advertising. If future releases introduce accounts, purchases or additional data processing, we will update this policy and request permissions or consent where required before those features are used.
5. Retention and deletion
Local data remains until you remove it through available app controls, clear app storage, uninstall the app or clear the website’s browser storage. Clearing data also removes saved preferences and may remove downloaded media and custom photos. Device operating-system backup or restore may retain or restore app data according to your own backup settings; Moonwave does not operate its own cloud backup service. Infrastructure logs follow Cloudflare’s applicable retention practices rather than the local-data controls. If you contact us, we retain correspondence only as needed to address your request and meet applicable obligations. You can request access, correction or deletion of information we hold by email; some legal or security obligations may require retention, which we will explain where applicable.
6. International processing and security
Cloudflare operates a global network, so request data may be processed outside your country. We use HTTPS for our production website, API and media. No transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. We limit the data handled by our own API to what is needed to deliver sound catalogs and resources.
7. Children and your choices
Moonwave is not specifically designed to collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action. You can decline optional permissions, stop streaming, clear local data or stop using the service. Depending on your location, you may have additional privacy rights, including the right to contact your local data-protection authority.
